Phone apps are an important part about making life in Shanghai easy. There are city apps which help you to find a cab during rush hour to helping translate that tricky food menu.

    English Apps


    The go-to app for translation. Includes a feature where it will translate characters on a menu/sign if you use your phones camera.


    Rush hour and stuck on the side of the road? Download Uber and request a driver to pick you up. Slightly more expensive than a regular taxi, but often with much nicer cars.
